Fall is officially here! What better way to celebrate the change of seasons than to visit a local cider mill? Here are a few of my favorites:
Dexter Cider Mill
Family owned and operated since 1886, The Dexter Cider Mill has been serving the greater Ann Arbor area for 132 years. It is the oldest, continuously operating cider mill in the State of Michigan. They bake and prepare daily delicious doughnuts, wood pressed cider, caramel apples and apple nut bread. On the weekends they also have homemade pies and other treats.
Wiard’s Orchard, Cider Mill and Pumpkin Farm
Wiard’s Cider Mill and Apple Orchard was founded in Michigan by George Wiard in 1837. Visitors can enjoy u-pick apples, u-pick pumpkin patch, drink delicious cider, roam through a corn maze, climb on a hayride, or reserve a field trip. It is located at 5565 Merritt Rd. in Ypsilanti, MI.
Wasem Fruit Farm
Wasem Fruit Farm is located in Milan, MI. They offer pick-your-own apples, pumpkins, and tart cherries; homemade, unpasteurized cider; and delicious fresh donuts made daily during the autumn season. They also grow a variety of other produce including red and black currants, gooseberries, peaches, plums, pears, and fall raspberries, all of which are sold in season at the Ann Arbor Farmers’ Market.
Alber Orchard & Cider Mill
Alber Orchard and Cider Mill is a proud member of the Michigan Cider Makers Guild. The orchard grows both traditional and heirloom apples which are carefully selected and blended to provide a delicious apple cider you won’t forget. Make sure you check out the fantastic corn maze when you’re there!
